I’ve never struggled to have friendships across political / party lines. I hate many ideas but hating people is cringe, it’s also boring to surround yourself with an echo chamber 

This doesn’t mean every political stance is valid, just means discourse is good & we should take each other seriously. When we generalize about the bad guys on the other side we tend to say dumb things, and everyone always overlooks their own flaws or is generous with their team & overly critical of the others. Recognizing that is a continual process, more value than belief

Imma be real, I love Republicans a lot of my friends Republicans,  but I do think it's harder to be casual friends with someone who's constantly spouting Maga talking points

Same, have had to sever friendships over cultish MAGA behavior. It's just sad. Still have some Republican friends (I'm registered Republican) but the MAGA deep-enders simply aren't grounded in reality, and it makes it hard to maintain any productive connection.
