In my Opinion 
The Good
- Straight to the Point
- simple editing to follow along
- The cartoon example of Swapping 

The Bad
- Nitpicking, I feel with your skill i already expect a better thumbnail out of you. However i am clueless on alternative or algorithm so take that with a grain of salt

What did you not like about the thumbnail? I'me definitely not a pro.

I would say face in middle of thumbnail doesn’t feel right, to try to keep it on left or right 
1. no large bubble text
2. too small/zoomed out
Where I’d person lean more towards 
( Random comparison) 
This type style as it seems to be the general layout. Large simple & minor click bait word for thumbnail
