this piece raises some fascinating questions even for social networks, including farcaster / warpcast. if new online social systems are just industrial factories without chemical fumes, are we really making progress?

That reminds me of Jacob Needleman who wrote that much of what we call progress is just humans needing less and less conscious attention to perform something and to lead life. I'd think there's a way to combine the benefits of online social experience with an awareness that to foster real connections is also to require attention. Effortless might not actually be the right path. But yeah if there's a profitable buisness in that, i don't know haha
