I spotted this fun VW that looks like it has been lowered. Do you know the model ? I think there was a cast about one of these a few months ago.

Spotted: 1974 Volkswagen Thing (USA Name) also known as Volkswagen Type 181.  This is an absolute first for me and it sucks to see its fading away but so stoked to find it.   I have 10 hours to kill in Portland before my flight home so Im just walking around on foot uncovering gems like this

Seen in the wild in a Walmart parking lot. 

Almost got in and took a selfie. Figured be best not to. 

The battery is located in the back seat and I assume is hooked/unhooked to drive. What’s the need to have it under the hood 🤣
