It called lenticular clouds. It happens when it is a strong current wind going fast to higher places and the humidity condense really fast it make this format. I study meteorology specific to prevent bad weather when navigating in open seas. This is a start of the current movement, probably later, if has no strong wind will be, a big cloud

Yeah I just used google lens because i was dying to know, then lost internet. But bingo! which also makes sense why they dont appear in NYC

It is a rare formation, but can appear in any place, even in NYC, but hard to pay attention or see due to big building. More usual where has mountains. But the format is soo strange that is often confused with ovnis.
