Think I’m out on personal channels Not much reason to cast in them vs. to your home feed (followers) unless you’re really leaning into building a community around your personal brand (most people aren’t) I do enjoy the lens of them being like a Facebook wall where friends can post “to” you (a bit different than tagging you) but don’t think that’s enough of a benefit on its own

From my understanding: with the algo as it is now, your cast to your home feed (no channel) will have less distro (even to your followers) than it would if you casted to literally any channel. So I see casters do it now, but apparently with the changes forthcoming - that will change which I think is a good thing because often there are casts that you think should have visibility but dont necessarily fall within a channel

Which forthcoming changes? As I understood this channel boost was prevalent until a few weeks (months?) ago

Listen to the last 15 minutes of this. @dwr.eth explains some changes with the nature of channels and feeds. General scope being turning channels into literal "Cozy Corners". I'll be interested to see how it pans out as a participant and channel owner. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GyPDGgCX_50&t=920s

Thanks for the time stamped link, will check it out later today! As someone heavily opinionated and invested in Farcasters direction I should probably carve out some time to watch these or read any agenda items 😅

Yeah not a bad idea! FWIW, I didn't watch the entire thing - but was advised to watch the last 15 minutes and found it extremely helpful to understand the direction the team is taking FC.
