When Elon introduced Optimus, I immediately saw a solution for my dad's future. At 77 he's in great health and financially fine, but he's made promise one thing and he's serious..."do not put me in a retirement home or assisted living", which usually cost around $75-100k a year and increasing rapidly, thus draining his savings and tossed into a new environment with complete strangers when the mind is usually feeble. Optimus, at an estimated $20k with a $5k yearly sub, could change that. Families currently spend a fortune on care, isolating their loved ones. With Optimus and other personalized ai, my dad can stay home, independent, without breaking the bank. I've only seen a couple posts about this and don't think people realize the true gravity of personalized robotics/ai...one way or another it's going to change the way we plan and live!

-cooking -house cleaning -laundry -animal care/feeding -emergency support -conversation (keeps the mind intact) -physical support -changing clothes -probably finances (and no, im not tossing out my dad - the man is out of this world and made increidble sacrifices in raising me and my siblings and gave me a shot at a good life. elder care in your own home with children and a ft job is almost impossible. i also live a good distance from him but see him often)

yes, huge opportunity for elderly care. I believe we’ll see this play out in Asian countries first before it becomes mainstream or even somewhat adopted in the U.S.
