I just sent @baseddesigner.eth 15% of the reward for the Base Token Store Onchain Summer Buildathon prize.

In the early days of Base Token Store, I asked the community for help designing. Everyone wanted upfront payment (which totally fair, btw)

But Max gifted me a beautiful figma design that same day with no expectation of return. He just wanted to build cool stuff.

I never met him. I don't know what his voice sounds like. But I know he is based af.

And ultimately he was rewarded with a bounty that far exceeded any commission that I was initially offered by others. Build and you will be rewarded.

Congrats, Max. I know I will continue to see gorgeous designs coming from your studio for years to come.

the way crypto projects are being built and paid for is magic coming after web2

just go out there and start building 

you’ll likely make more money (for the time spent) than if you were to sell your services to clients and agree on paying upfront

coming to crypto I expected for things to be chaotic and to encounter lots of scammers, many ways to loose money and get lost in endless defi projects 

but I ended up getting scammed in a fiat world far worse already:
- by the company I spent 4 years working for with barely any vacation time

- by multiple government agencies I got to be a resident of the territory they rule 

- by banks and other financial services blocking funds and restricting transfers to my family and friends
