The left should be preparing for AOC’s presidential run in many ways. She will be the successor to Kamala Harris and represent the progressive turn for the democrats, and the attempt to fully liquidate the left AOC can be worked with, but she must be constrained by a real left. needs to exist by 2028

The democrats picking Walz is evidence both that they need to make a progressive tack for a number of structural reasons. However, that Harris is also by far the most favored national candidate by corporate America in recent memory should color that evidence and make us think hard

Really though? I see her dive bombing to the right with the rest of the party, maybe even being the flag-bearer for this latest round of morally "justified" austerity and further looting of the working class.

Even in 2032 she'd be the youngest elected President ever. I don't see her running that year. Maybe 2036, but 12 years is a lot of time for the political landscape to completely change.

A lot of things I don't understand about this cast but the three biggest ones: 1. Why 2028? If Harris wins, Dems have her as candidate earliest 2032. 2. Dem elites have many more to push ahead before it comes to AOC: Buttigieg, Newsom, even Shapiro. 3. I don't know why we're still shaping everything around Dems instead of building a force completely independently. Dems CAN'T BE constrained or influenced or worked with. Fundamentally corrupt & broken organization. I'll go hyperbolically stupid but there might be more ways to push GOP left (from their existing point) than Dems lol (but I'm not suggesting that as a plan)
