Hilarious to me that the bank refuses to process large amounts of change. They have the change counting machine right there and they refuse to use it. Jerks

agreed. search quality is only mediocre and barely different from competitors. And I’d rather just use perplexity at this point.

apple has secretly hosted two global police summits in 2019 and 2023 to help law enforcement use its products like iPhones and Vision Pro for surveillance. they've come a long way from refusing to work with law enforcement back in 2015 https://www.forbes.com/sites/thomasbrewster/2024/10/09/apple-sells-privacy-to-consumers-but-its-quietly-helping-police-use-iphones-for-surveillance/

a great way to get started with vim is to install vimium browser extension and learn the bindings while browsing the web. Also essential to ESC to the caps lock key.

introducing Comm, a new kind of messaging app. we extend Signal-style encryption with a federation layer Comm supports two kinds of chats: 1. Signal-style E2EE group chats & DMs 2. chat communities hosted on federated keyservers (like a modern IRC) where Discord is chaotic and messy, Comm communities are organized and built for async we're using Farcaster to bootstrap not just our social graph, but also our interest graph. when you log in with Farcaster, we'll automatically add you to communities based on the channels you follow check it out: https://comm.app/download

I’m very excited for what @comm.eth is building! Finally some well built projects encrypted chat for farcaster. Feels way better than discord and will probably replace keybase for me.

Or you can avoid this attack altogether by getting @3num We (@3num) are on a mission to fix the broken telephony networks. Step one is to decouple your phone number from the IMEI by utilizing the data networks. Step two is upgrading the SMS and voice calls to happen over a new E2EE DePIN protocol.

I wonder how much of Boeing’s decline can be attributed to SpaceX and Blue Origin sucking up all the aerospace engineering talent. Would be interesting to see an evaluation from that lens.

Yeah i’ve always suspected the apple privacy thing is just marketing. Is there a chance that they just comply because the requested information is just all encrypted? I’ve heard that running a vpn on iphone doesn’t prevent apple from still routing their traffic outside your tunnel. Infuriatingz
