Gm! Happy Monday! That's pretty crazy - didn't know that. Much of the NY waterways have had their share of pollution unfortunately.

That's horrible, and I'm sure there was no recourse for the residents (or very little help) while folks get those health issues and piling medical bills.

In the early 2000's, when the pollution of Newton Creek was at it's worst, there was an increase of cancer cases among the residents living closest to the creek... As far as I know, the level of pollution is lower now - but still among the worst in the US...
