watched aliens (1986) and predator (1987) back to back and couldn’t help but notice how much predator overuses the score. it could’ve been much more atmospheric with little to no music. and regarding aliens, it’s so great, idk why they kept making movies afterwards.

thinking of watching prey (2022), it seems to capture what made the original movie great. it looks like it has that feeling of primal hunt. other installments/remakes seem to miss this and either go for a full remake or cheap gimmicks like “let’s have more predators”.

it turned out even better than i imagined. it's so rare to see a non-parasitic movie belonging to a franchise that does its completely own thing. and props to the devs for not killing off the dog.

HA! I don't remember the dog, good reason to rewatch. That's how I felt too.. happily surprised it did the work of being its own story/movie
