In 1991, archaeologists discovered a male mummy in the Alps that was well-preserved along with the mummy's clothes, a pair of shoes made of deer and bear skins, an interesting thing that could be seen inside the shoes. With soft hay, this was one of the earliest examples of ancient socks.
