Yes, but as they build apps like this then they can expose middleware APIs that others can repurpose. Like Microsoft building Word, Excel, PowerPoint on top of Windows. They didn’t just come up with Windows APIs in the abstract, they built full products on top of Windows and then let devs use the corresponding APIs.

I’m gonna humbly but strongly disagree with you We should not be building web3 software today the way Microsoft did in the 80’s and 90’s The parts in the middle are already being built With web3 it’s all composable!
