it’s dad’s birthday today and my casts are being boosted — so obviously dedicating my first one to the man whose shadows im so happy to live in because nothing I do would supersede the incredible life he has lived.

- moved out of home at the age of 10 to join India’s prep school for military
- ate a dozen bananas overnight to meet the minimum weight criteria 
- got into NDA
- joined the Indian Navy, dedicated his entire life to service 
- broke out of extreme poverty 
- learnt how to speak English in his 20s, is one of the most articulate and well read people I’ve ever known
- has never ever wanted his children to be anything but healthy and at peace
- severe asthma but somehow a cross country marathon runner AND pro tennis player????
- funniest guy I personally know 
- best companion on a road trip
