"Moldy Blue Night," a poignant piece from the 'Decayedness' collection, carries the silent weight of a history often untold. As a Kurdish artist, my work is deeply etched with the scars of my heritage—a heritage marked by the struggle against the shadows of colonialism and the corruption it breeds.

This photograph captures the aftermath of such a struggle, portraying the opulence of conquerors now succumbing to the relentless tide of decay 

The once-rich fruits, now molding on the grandiose platter, symbolize the spoils of colonial greed, echoing the exploitation of Kurdish lands and the disregard for its people

Through the lens of my Kurdish perspective, "Moldy Blue Night" is not just a critique but a defiant stand against the forces that have long sought to dominate and deplete.

It is an invitation to gaze upon the remnants of power and reflect on its transience, a call to remember that even the mightiest empires will face their reckoning as time claims all.

The faded grandeur of the setting is a deliberate nod to the often-hidden corruption that underpins the narrative of imperial conquest. The darkness that envelops the scene is reflective of the nights in Kurdistan—blue with the memory of loss, yet unwavering in the face of erasure.
