March Recap + Big April News! March was a huge month for the local scene—ROK Esports showed up strong with events for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Melee, and Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike! Huge thanks to Nouns Flows, whose continued support is helping new faces explore crypto and web3, while growing awareness of the Nouns ecosystem. Their backing has leveled up our prize pools and helped build a thriving local gaming and esports community thanks to nouns flows! Now, let’s talk April—because it’s going to be legendary. Next month, ROK Esports turns 2, and we’re celebrating in style! On April 26th, we’re throwing our biggest StarBrawl yet, plus a legendary Halo 3 LAN—a celebration of community, competition, and two amazing years of ROK. 🎮 Starbrawl #13 Recap 🎮 Starbrawl brought 65 unique attendees across Smash Ultimate, Melee, Rivals of Aether 2, and P+ Doubles to ROK Esports for an amazing event! 🏆 Results: • Smash Ultimate Winner: CF | Dominator • Melee Winner: TFT | MoF (Top 30 ranked!) 💰 Prize Pools: • Smash Ultimate: $350 + $100 USDC • Melee: $270 + $100 USDC Huge thanks to @esports and @flows for their incredible support! 📺 Streaming Success: • Smash Ultimate streamed on Nouns YouTube, while Melee streamed on Nouns Twitch, maximizing exposure. • Melee averaged 200 viewers after a 500-viewer raid by Hungrybox. Thanks to @Peterpandam for the great call! Next Steps: • Weekly streams on Nouns channels • Flows funds will support bigger monthly events. • Future events will include Nounish branding, consistent updates, and stronger promotion. We’re thrilled to announce that our first StarBrawl (Monthly Tournament) of the year is happening this Saturday, February 1st! Thanks to the generous support from Nouns DAO, we’re adding a $100 pot bonus to both the Melee and Ultimate tournaments. This event promises to be exciting, featuring top players in Miami and even invaders coming from Central and North Florida. We’ll be streaming the Ultimate tournament on Nouns’ YouTube channel and the Melee tournament on Nouns’ Twitch channel. We’re eager to surprise the community with these pot bonuses and introduce the younger generation to Web3. I’m thrilled to announce that ROK Esports has been officially approved for sponsorship by Nouns through their Flows program! 🎉 This partnership will help us elevate tournaments and provide more opportunities for players and fans. We’ll be streaming weekly Smash tournaments every Friday at 8:30 PM EST and hosting our monthly Starbrawl series—next up, February 1st. Flows sponsorship will enhance our monthly tournaments with bigger prizes, fostering player growth and community. Recent Smash events have been amazing, drawing South Florida’s best Ultimate players, including special guest MVD, a professional Snake player visiting Miami this month. On January 17th, we had 27 entrants, and the previous Friday, 22. The bracket is here: Start.gg Bracket. MVD dropped to losers but came back to win with a 3-0 reset and a 3-2 victory over CF Dominator in the finals.
