1/ 🎩 One of the best things about Web3 is composability. As an artist it reminds me of Lev Manovich’s theory of remix culture. Base→D[erivatives] is a new project that plays directly on these concepts. You remix NFTs and track the provenance of changes. At launch it will use $DEGEN. Here’s how it works:

2/ 🎩 The smart contract takes other NFTs as Accessories, like the Habedasher Hats. These can be set so that a royalty is paid to the owner of the Accessory (e.g. if someone uses a hat and you own the NFT, they send you Degen). Users visit the Dapp and see all of their NFTs. They can then add Accessories to them.

3/🎩 Then the user can mint a Based Derivative NFT which shows their original with the accessories. Here’s where things get interesting. We use on-chain SVGs and IPFS, so once minted a user can go back and edit their NFT. They can move, add, or remove accessories, WITHOUT minting again!
