When messenger founder Pavel Durov was arrested, he received tremendous support from the multi-billion dollar industry that depends on him.
Shortly after Telegram messenger founder Pavel Durov was arrested in France on Saturday, the CEO of cryptocurrency company Tether called the situation
"extremely disturbing." Crypto-enthusiasts pledged to support Mr. Durov by posting the hashtag #FreeDurov. Other investors said the arrest was an attack on free speech.
"I can't imagine a day without Telegram," one cryptocurrency user wrote.
