"Kobanê" is a 2022 Kurdish war film directed by Özlem Yasar, depicting the 2014-2015 Siege of Kobanî, where Kurdish forces defended the city against ISIS attacks. The film highlights the pivotal role of Kurdish women fighters during this battle. It was produced by the Rojava Film Commune and filmed in the Syrian cities of Al-Thawrah and Tabqa. The premiere took place on September 20, 2022, at the Kobanê Cultural Center.
