Homa, the rare bearded vulture, is the symbol of luck and happiness in
Iranian mythology
It was believed that if the shadow of a Homa fell on one, he would rise to sovereignty and anyone shooting the bird would die in forty days.

Huma is a bird of paradise that is half male and half female (anima and animus). This bird never sits on the ground and its shadow brings happiness to people on earth. Today, the image of this bird is officially on the coat of arms of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
