The 7 leading Republican billionaires contributed over $1 billion to Republican candidates in the 2024 cycle.
 
The 7 leading Democrats contributed $245 million.
 
When billionaires buy elections, we are living in an oligarchy, not a democracy. We must overturn Citizens’ United.

You can imagine the pain of buying the election, still losing and you’ve got loads of debt to pay🤣🤣

It's sad that Bernie of all people sold out to their corrupt party, too. He started independent and stayed independent a long time, but not forever.

I think a lot of the outrage is that it is such a few people raising so much. With the left it’s usually a lot more but smaller donations.

Which I guess in a twisted way is more “small d democratic”

Not excusing it, I think it’s gross both ways.
