Scammers on WhatsApp use psychological tricks to manipulate people into fraudulent investment schemes, especially fake mining pools. Here’s how they operate: Step 1: Random Introduction The scammer, often pretending to be an attractive woman, sends a random message like: “Hello! Is this John? I think we met somewhere.” Step 2: Building Trust Over time, the scammer builds a fake friendship or romantic connection, often using stolen pictures from Social media and asking personal questions to seem genuine. Step 3: The Investment Opportunity Once trust is built, the scammer asks about financial goals and introduces a “profitable” crypto mining pool. Step 4: Illusion of Profit The victim invests a small amount ($100–500). The fake mining pool shows daily profits, increasing the victim's confidence to invest more. Step 5: The Big Scam The scammer encourages a larger deposit ($10,000 or more). Afterward, the platform disappears, and the scammer blocks the victim.
