1) it’s not a poll by any rigorous definition of the word — merely a convenience sample of bots, Sybils, LARPers, and yes a bunch of anon X users. The statistical relevance is near zero

2) even if it’s just testing public sentiment, the question needs unasking. The “yes” option amounts to what — economic coercion or military action to overthrow an elected government?

3) the question is loaded because “tyrannical government” is in the premise (much like “have you stopped beating your wife yet?”)

So yes, it’s crazy and disingenuous

And I understand it’s possibly used as a tactic / device to open up the Overton window and nudge the debate toward some much more benign resolution

But it’s normalizing extreme positions and not everyone in the room has the IQ to take it as rhetorical hyperbole
