If this is an African Grey (which I think it is), they're not just "a bird". They're among the smartest species out there outside of mammals and very observant of their environment. They can live for well over a decade and build incredible rapport with their humans, learn phrases, develop routines, etc. Very rewarding as pets, arguably more so than the usual dogs / cats given the addition of (limited) language

This one had all kinds of noises it would make and phrases it would say. I was very impressed, honestly. He liked me (according to the owner), but he also kept trying to drink my beer lol I need to read up on African Greys! 200 $degen

Had a friend once who had one of these. Its favorite phrase was "god damnit!" Pretty funny, but I'm sure it got annoying πŸ˜„
