I’ll state the obvious, but it’s not the $500/mo that matters. Virtually nobody cares about getting reimbursed their occasional visit to the doctor for a runny nose. It’s that if —FSM forbid— you get cancer or similar, literally 100% of all your medical costs will be taken care of, until you either recover or die. And you won’t lose your income, because the social security will step in to cover most or all of your salary so your employer doesn’t need to lay you off. And that also applies if you’re a student, an unemployed adult, or a retiree (because eventually you stop working one day and lose your work-related insurance, usually at the very age where your medical bills start ramping up quickly).
