How would you feel if Warpcast replaced likes (the heart icon) with reddit / HN style upvote and added a downvote on every cast?

1 - strongly against this, would stop using the app
10 - hell yes, would greatly improve the experience

Are you trying to solve for karma (the community rewarding a post for effort/quality, at the risk of contrarian opinions getting downvoted to hell); or for personal filtering (I want to see more/less of this)? I assume it’s the former, but I’m not satisfied with follows being the only mechanism for the latter.

Follows are binary and I don’t want to stop seeing someone’s content entirely just because they occasionally post about a topic that doesn’t interest me, or in a language that I don’t speak. I’d prefer to be able to curate the content that I see at a more atomic level than caster level.

And to be clear, at community level, I think upvotes/likes are sufficient; quality posts will receive many and stand out. At a personal level, I want to be able to signal I want to see more or less of something without penalizing it for karma; it’s only an indication of interest, not effort/quality.

For that to happen, I would need to be able to indicate whether I personally have interest in a post or not, to train my FC client of choice to curate content accordingly.

That is orthogonal to up/downvoting a post to reward the caster for quality/effort and let them build community karma.
