From today's Financial Times: "Unfortunately, BlackRock has chosen to host its tokenized Buidl fund on the public permissionless Ethereum blockchain. The good news is that some other financial institutions are experimenting with other kinds of ledgers to see if tokenization yields efficiencies in their markets." The article doesn't say what these "other kinds of ledgers" are.

That link is hilarious -- it was published on September 2022 and contains this line: "the Ethereum blockchain keeps promising to shift from proof of work to the more energy-efficient proof of stake, but this never seems to happen." That's literally when Ethereum moved to PoS.
