On a related note, having spent a decade in the Middle East, I’ve seen countless instances of kids literally standing at the back, in between the two front seats; and front passengers (typically the mom, while the dad drives) with a kid in her lap, both visibly unbuckled, while going 130 km/h, ready to turn the kid into a instant airbag (meatbag?). I assume they love their kids just as much, it’s just that the safety awareness and apparent understanding of physics is lagging
