I can’t put into words how much of a turn-off it is for someone to be smart and engaging and then spiritually vapid. 

What a waste of potential! 

I really wish our culture here in the West “in this day and age” valued spirituality more than intellectuality. 

We can reason, yes. But more importantly we have consciousness! We can lead not with just primal instinct, biology and **mind**, but consciousness and heart! 

What a gift! And it’s being wasted, I swear.

How do you define spirituality in this context?

That’s one of the most poetic definitions I’ve read so far, and it leaves room for both religious and secular interpretation

I’ll go with Maximus Decimus Meridius. Anyone who believes what they do in life echoes in eternity/ has a belief in the immaterial infinite!
