Has the system (evolution) created within itself a creature that can stop the system’s influence on itself? Meta, ik. Serious question though.

Humans probably qualify as such a creature, IMO. We’re still subject to random mutations, but not really to natural selection anymore as our medical prowesses and abundant lifestyles shield us from the ruthless selection process that other species are still subject to.

If we remove ourselves from the center of the universe for a second, medicine is the result of natural selection - that selection acting on culture and social systems to produce knowledge and self interest.
