It starts gently to get everybody on the same page by describing the developmental history of AI and its practical applications through to recent times before pondering what the future might hold. The book feels open and honest in its appraisal of the economic, political and social implications of AI and touches on many of the key debates. It presents discussion from the perspective of an insider, is sometimes personal to the point of being biographical, but never overly self obsessed or boring, so I'd recommended it to anybody interested in this subject.
