How hard would it be to agree on a date range and a city and then everyone just shows up to run/attend side events? No main event.

I guess this is kind of what Devconnect was, yeah?

Having some process of choosing and a critical mass of event organizers that will commit to the choice no matter where it ends up seem like the key pieces.

call it a "flash neighborhood". 


I wonder how difficult it is to establish loose consensus on social w/o overlapping traditional seasons/festivals.

whichever date range it happens to be, we can always deal w/ it a year in advance (i.e. the next "block")
