Police officers are not heroes. They may commit heroic acts in the course of their job, but any good they do is outweighed by their enforcement of obviously immoral laws. We used to have "peace officers", now we have highly militarized thugs that go around throwing innocent people in cages for victimless "crimes", and that's if they survive their encounter. The police are so drunk on the power bestowed upon them that even being on video doesn't stop them from being violent thugs. One of the reasons they have so much power, beyond the travesty of qualified immunity, is that there are so many different arbitrary "laws" that if they want to they can always find a reason to fuck your life up. If you take people's freedom for victimless crimes such as drug possession, if you help steal years of time from people who have harmed noone and split families apart, than you are a bad person. There is no excuse for enforcing bad laws. Without these thugs "just doing their jobs", then bad laws are just words on paper.

250 $degen I hate cops. What makes you sign up to be the long arm of the state against your fellow citizens? Idk. The job has never been noble. I like cop movies though.

There's some good cop movies for sure, they're shows not movies but I thought the first season of True Detective and the entire The Shield series were both excellent.
