I could agree, but I think the economy would have been fine without Covid. We will never know though.

Controversial take as well...
Trump got super lucky with covid, there were cracks in the economy in 2019 and trump needed to bail out banks. But then 2020 happened and trump got lucky he could do the largest cash injection directly to the middle class. Barring that, we would've faced not a major recession, but one nonetheless.
