I want to create nice drum recordings from home which made me realize I need to get good at isolating and mic’ing drums, playing drums, and mixing drums. Oh and I need better hi-hats

I just started getting into it. Currently I only have two mics that Im messing with. Kick and overhead like yours. I can get pretty good recordings out of it but I will for sure need to mic everything in the future. Here is my latest sound https://www.youtube.com/shorts/lCAV4RInCR8

Hell yeah dude sounding good. I’ve been practicing my drumming chops the past couple weeks, gonna make an other stab at recording. My hi hat is very loud and sounds like shit so I’m thinking about replacing them first. Yours sound great!

Thanks man! Yea one thing I have found with just having the over head mic to pick up everything you have to be more intentional with your dynamics and I find my self trying to play the hi hats and really any cymbals quiter then everything else.
