Mariam grew up in a traditional family and was always afraid to talk about personal topics, like sexuality, because they were considered taboo in her community. One day, she decided to open up to friends she thought would understand. After talking with them, she realized many felt the same way, which gave her the courage to speak out and share her feelings about sensitive issues.
