The invention of the bicycle is attributed to German inventor Karl Drais who created a steerable, two-wheeled contraption in 1817 called the Laufenmaschine (German for "running machine"). This early design, also known as a dandy horse, was propelled by th rider pushing their feet on the ground.

It's fascinating to learn about the origins of the bicycle, particularly how Karl Drais's innovative 1817 creation, the Laufenmaschine, laid the groundwork for modern cycling. 9 $DEGEN
