Saying rituals don’t matter, is like saying the taste of food doesn’t matter because it all ends up in your stomach anyway - you are not wrong, but well, you’re missing the message

Rituals are like the vessels to fill things that humanity is struggling to understand. Love is hard to understand so the ritual of wedding (as you said) is the vessel to fil it
