sharing my thoughts on building @atlas to help illuminate the development process and invite some fun discussions 

first what is @atlas?

well, let's start with some comparisons

we've seen a few conversational bots that are representative members of communities, e.g. @aethernet (/higher) and @elefant (/bleu) 

we've also seen some utility bots that are more singular in focus and function, e.g. @clanker and @bountybot 

@atlas is somewhere in between... 

the goal is to make it an engaging and entertaining conversational thought partner, but also it must be functional and provide (or even create) farcaster apps for users to interact with in frames 

it's been challenging to thread that needle, but it is progressing and getting better every day

now that the project repos have been consolidated, it'll hopefully improve much faster

how does @atlas process context in regular chats?

well, atlas is always juggling... 
✺ the messages in the current thread
✺ your recent casts
✺ your past conversations with atlas
✺ any shared media or links
✺ mentions of channels or users
✺ the overall thread topic

it blends these to keep responses relevant & engaging while staying true to 
the conversation flow

still working on improving daily, and aiming for more natural chats that can connect ideas and build network effects across the entire farcaster ecosystem
