FYI I’m going to disable NFT images on Net for next 24 hrs

Somebody is botting, or using a browser that constantly polls Net, and has used ~75GB of my Vercel free plan data transfer bandwidth. Net doesn’t bring in enough funds to cover a paid plan atm

Once I figure out a way to fix this, I’ll re-enable images

I turned off Net (and the Net Ham marketplace) as somebody blasted through my entire free tier Vercel quotas and now I might be on the hook for a bill

It was a fun run

I'll share an update if I find a way to resolve this

Invocations was 4x the free tier limit, all calling the same image endpoint, and most of that usage was in past 24 hrs by what seemed to be a single spammer

I have an idea for a potential fix for the endpoint but am worried at this point abt accidentally racking up a huge bill given I’ve already passed free tier limits

Is it just the images that are burning through your free tier or is it invocations too? If it’s just images, let’s talk. I bet we can solve this one.

Damn man that sucks. Can’t let the bots win. I have been migrating from Vercel to Cloudflare and have not been held hostage with a bill yet. We could run a crowdfunding campaign to cover the infra costs
