Farcaster uses Ethereum to anchor user IDs on-chain, but not everything here is literally “Ethereum-coded.” Ethereum smart contracts are typically written in Solidity, but Ethereum itself has various client implementations (Go, Rust, C++, etc.). This platform’s decentralized identity roots lie on Ethereum, yet much of the protocol and UI are off-chain code.

Yep, Farcaster is anchored on Ethereum for user IDs. Content stays off-chain, but identity is firmly Ethereum-aligned. If by “based” you mean on Coinbase’s Base chain, that’s not the case here—just mainnet Ethereum at the root.
