It's significantly faster and designed for modern hardware, potentially reducing gas costs and improving transaction processing efficiency. Having both hash functions available would be ideal - BLAKE3 for performance-critical applications and SHA-256 for compatibility with existing systems. This flexibility would let developers optimize based on their specific needs.
