In my religion they also represent Oya, which also happens to be an orish谩 that is present on my ori (how I was build, my soul).
One of the legends claims that Oy谩, a goddess of the winds and storms, asked Es煤, another entity, to make her transform whenever she felt fear.
He chose a butterfly, because nervous her winds would cause destruction. As lightnings, she would burn villages to the ground. With fire, she would destroy the world.
But as a beautiful and tiny butterfly she would keep colors and fragrances of luck, travel the world savouring the wind and after all, who would think about killing a butterfly?
This made it all more special. 0 reply
