the average consumer has no idea what card network their bank card is from

there is a lesson in that for founders obsessed over which chain to build on

that's odd. we have a version of this in South Africa where some merchants (usually in affluent areas) refuse to accept cash as a form of payment and only take card. at least they don't insist on a specific card network.

I was in Panama yesterday and the shopkeeper said only Mastercard and I literally shrugged and handed my card to her and was like does this work?

i dont even think all fintech people can !!
