i respect people who shamelessly self-promote (with some class). that's the only way to cold-start anything at first. anyone annoyed by you doing that aren't worth keeping in your network anyway. plenty of beautiful fish in the ocean worth getting to know, so planktons who drift away from you are good riddance.
