In a weird throwback to the 00s, X started serving me several 9/11 conspiracy theory threads today. Controlled demolition, inside job by the White House, etc. Any reason why now? I certainly haven’t searched nor engaged with this type of content to suggest any such personal interest to the algorithm

prob most likely is cross-content pollination -- people searching for conspiracy related to the plane crash in iran re-popularizes conspiracy related to 9/11, people get talking etc. less likely but still in the mix: may 2 was OBL's death so a lot of this usually comes up in may anyway

wait, so is the answer that X gives anyone a view of the hive mind, and it is not rational or recognizable? maybe with different weightings for different people, but the general contents of a cesspit burbling around

Actually, I take my last statement back. It’s not that it’s a cesspit. If people want to read about jet fuel and steel beams, more power to them, I’m not here to judge. All I can say is I was surprised to see 20+ year conspos resurface and the algo misinterpret my interests so much
