OK I'll spar with you on this point. This magic internet money, this free money, this Degen airdrop which continues even after a year. Even if I disagree with anything about the project, the tokens are mine after each claim. Nobody can take them away/give back/take away later with a stroke of the keyboard. I guess in real life cash has a similar quality? but nothing in web2 allows me to send value from the USA to people in South America or Africa or Asia, for about ~$0.01 on Base and maybe 1/100th of that on Degen L3 chain, with the peace of mind of knowing the recipient will be able to access that value. To me, it's a dream come true to be able to express my appreciation using value transfer, to internet friends separated from me by national regulations beyond my control. It's like living in the future.

also on exchange across border - in most instances ive encountered, ppl with the funds to transmit across to their families back home (i live in aus) will not trust crypto, even if they have to pay fees for the transaction and don't trust their banks. they'd rather avoid the possibility of getting in trouble crypto is great for the ultra rich to move funds tho

i will gladly take up this debate π«‘ as long as you can shake hands after i said "almost nothing" and yes you're right, currently that's true. but what happens when I can transfer stable coins on facebook? that value prop for crypto becomes 0. we'll be lucky if they only use American made stables, but that's not exactly crypto innit degen airdrop is even easier, clearly it's not decentralised as we've seen many times the rules can and will change i think without the decentralisation of Bitcoin and then Ethereum this wouldn't be possible, but web3/crypto are completely different worlds
