2/2 the-path-of-least resistance future I see includes:
- READ what entities have paid (opaquely) to show you, as the permissionless feed is too noisy and people don't want to work too hard for their entertainment
- WRITE stuff and maybe it makes it to the data layer, maybe it gets distributed if the gatekeepers allow, maybe you'll be able to retrieve it later, but storage is rented not owned. I'm describing the practical, not the theoretical
- OWN is an ownership within unexpectedly tight boundaries. If your PFP causes an Android client to crash all the time, sorry. If your displayname has too many coin-emojis to be tasteful to newcomers, sorry we won't show them in the feed any more. If you want to take your social graph somewhere else, here's a JSON figure out next steps yourself. If US Marshals knock on our door, what do you expect, we're pulling the plug and it's all gone.
