I maybe understand you a tiny bit. In my high school, the girls loved the soccer players. Something running something something nice butts hee hee. I tried to extoll the virtues of the pick-and-roll and owning the elbow area, but it fell on deaf ears 🤷

Yao Ming, what a gentleman giant. American football is very popular in Texas (my "country", exactly) and men's soccer has a long way to go. American women are awesome. At football (soccer) too. I have to tell you, as a friend, the only Spurs I fw are Robert Horry and Avery Johnson the Little General. I drafted David Robinson in fantasy, only to trade him for Pervis Ellison and 4 other players. I only learned recently that the Spurs were the first team to give Vernon Maxwell a chance (hint: it wasn't a good fit lol). But H-Town was the perfect fit for Mad Max.

I must be thankful that I found someone who knows about basketball!!! My respects to Robert. He has been a winner everywhere he has been, luck or no luck. The twin towers, they only had a couple of shows. Maybe it sounds like I'm Argentine, but the true identity of the Spurs, will always be very disputed between only 2 people, Ducan is the other one. I almost feel envious of you because you were in Texas when everything was happening. At least in your new "country", you will always be able to talk about basketball! 😂 😂

Agree on identity of that era of the Spurs. Before the championship teams, it was Iceman and then Admiral (+ Little General methinks). but back to Farcaster-- in Texas, there's always the far-off possibiity of exit / ragequit / independence. Some will say it's cope or whatnot, but Texas could easily become South Africa, swapping out oranges for grapes and oil for diamonds. IMHO it would provide a better standard of living than post-Brexit Britain. And geopolitically, it could court non-US allies in a way that Cuba never could. Farcaster seems to have a there-are-no-alternatives mindset, so whatever Daddy decides, it's better to go along with it. This makes me feel I'm mostly talking to sheep and virgins and wolves in sheep's clothing. Definitely not a utopia of crypto-pilled forward thinkers building a cypherpunk future. And tbh it doesn't even seem to be a Read-Write-Own future unless you squint really hard. 1/2

2/2 the-path-of-least resistance future I see includes: - READ what entities have paid (opaquely) to show you, as the permissionless feed is too noisy and people don't want to work too hard for their entertainment - WRITE stuff and maybe it makes it to the data layer, maybe it gets distributed if the gatekeepers allow, maybe you'll be able to retrieve it later, but storage is rented not owned. I'm describing the practical, not the theoretical - OWN is an ownership within unexpectedly tight boundaries. If your PFP causes an Android client to crash all the time, sorry. If your displayname has too many coin-emojis to be tasteful to newcomers, sorry we won't show them in the feed any more. If you want to take your social graph somewhere else, here's a JSON figure out next steps yourself. If US Marshals knock on our door, what do you expect, we're pulling the plug and it's all gone. Wat do? I built a cost-effective way to download your encoded cast data, at any time, entirely self-service. IDK what else tbh.
