Interesting framing. Very succint presentation, which I appreciate! I agree with your premise, and am trying several curation experiments. However, the most convincing argument to me for why human curation will fail is: those who wish to circumvent are always lower-cost + higher-reward than those who want to establish quality. The system needs continual inputs of external value (time+energy), and the beneficiaries do not pay market value for the contributions. See Wikipedia which lives on volunteers and donations. I'd argue that crypto could solve this, but it gets pulled hard the other way by farmers and value extractooors, even inside permissionless organizations. Thanks for writing! and hopefully triggering more thoughtful discussion
